I Don't Understand?!?! Why the carpet?

Last weekend I was stumbling around the Vic both Friday and Saturday night.. As I was walking around I found the DJ box dowstairs and next to it i found this random off cut of carpet?? the weird thing is that i didn't just find one random off cut on the weekend but 2! 1 peice on friday night and a completely different piece on saturday night! I don't understand?
why are there random peices of carpet floating around at the Vic?
