I found in the week 12 workshop that this task was a bit more difficult than the others.. I'm still not able to change the html code around to the way i'd like it and have run into a bit of trouble with it, ultimately resulting in a new template for my blog as i became quite annoyed at it. i just guess i'll have to keep trying until i get it, hopefully the next time you look at this blog it will have a super mad background :) here are some links to some photos i worked with in photoshop, uploaded to flickr and also photobucket and tried to make them my url so i could use them as a background

As most people, including me, think that David Bowie is quite a scary character but whoah, imagine having a dream about this make-up wearing, spandex tights extraordinare with sometimes bright, sometimes blonde mulleted hair.. oooh that rhymed. well i did and let me tell you, what an exciting dream, posiibly one of the most exciting that i've ever had! get this, Mr Bowie and I just happened to be singing the famous but hilarious song that featured on Charlies angels, Rebel Rebel!!!! as much i don't like some David Bowie songs, i'd have to say that this was pretty funny. but i must say that i love the fact he starred in my favourite child-hood movie The Labyrinth. possibly the coolest thing ever!!! even though is it a ridiculously bad movie now, being an eight yr old who thinks that goblins are real, you kinda think its cool. and the songs involved. my favourite part was ' Dance magic Dance'... if you ever get a chnce to watch this you should!!

MPI-104 Assessment 2

Well once again it is time for the assessment blog post, and I must say, this assessment proved to be much more difficult than the first, especially when it came to mucking around with the html code which i still have not successfully completed due to being a little spastic when things don't go how i want them to. But even though i haven't managed to master the html, I am actually rather pleased with the aesthetics of my blog, i believe it screams my personality all over.. and here is my progress.
I have successfully completed the following for flickr. This site has become a rather useful tool in terms of being able to save the pictures i might need from the internet and my computer and have it there ready to use at any time! i love to take photos so its great that i can keep most of them on the net so if i ever need to upload a photo to blogger or even something like slide.com it is right there for me to do. most of my images are of things that interest me, e.g bands or my friends. All up i now have 70 photos and 82 Flickr Views, yay! i have made 3 sets of bundle as that is the maximum amount allowed, i have joined 6 groups including things that make you go hmmm and also crappy photgoraphy and i currently have 12 contacts.

In delicious, it is alot harder to make aesthetically pleasing as it is a pretty basic site with the main purpose of bookmarking your favourite websites and being able to share them.. i have done the following though probably not as good as i had hoped as it kind of confuses me a little but i have done my best. i currently have 3 pages of bookmarks, 21 contacts or "fans", and have managed to change the apperance of how the bookmarks are displayed on my side link bar.

Blogger is probably my favourte multimedia tool as it enables me to write whatever i want and know that it is my own and only i can change it! i loved mucking around with the colours and backgrounds and being able to change it all around again and again, i did have a little trouble though trying to change the html code so i could put my own pictures in the back ground but i'll get there soon hopefully, still just trying to figure it all out. My posts all have links, if they aren't links to actual websites then they include a link to the photograph within the post , yay.. The rss feed was done on my delicious a fair while ago so that was lucky, i have nominated the ba-ma metablog on technorati as a favourite which once again was done a fair while ago when i joined technorati.. my counter isn't a sitemeter counter so i'm not exactly sure how long my visitors stay, only how many visit, i started my counter at 150 so my page looked a little loved and now its just over 500 which i'm pretty happy about. here are some links to some of my more interesting posts.. Well So far i've had 372 hits on my blog which is kind of funny cause i actually started my blog count off at 150 to be quite truthful lol. but apart from that it means that i've still had quite a few visitors.
I reckon that most of my visitors are friends from my multimedia class and have been accessing it as apart of mpi-104.
I'd say my blog wouldn't interest many people above 21 unless they knew me well as i have a few different kinds of interests :)

Aesthetics, What is it?

Aesthetics refers to the beauty and appearance of a design, whether it be art, clothing, pictures, nature etc. Aesthetically pleasing or unpleasing are the common terms used and most of the time are used to describe the way something looks and whether or not it pleases our eye

One website that I found to be aesthetically pleasing was the fashion website for one of the fastest growing companies in Australia, Pipduck. Pipduck designs and creates a range of fashion gumboots and water proof shoes pic of gumboot and specialises in their unique patterns. This website is aesthetically pleasing to me as it uses beautiful colours and display pictures, is easy to navigate my way around and contains a theme of being simple, romantic and chic, ultimately being directed at girls and women from ages 16-30.
Pipduck Website

A website that i found to be aesthtically unpleasing was the website for industrial designer Tord Boontje. Although not all pages are unpleasing, the welcome page, which initially gives a first impression of a website, is quite disappointing as it quite plain and monotone. Although some of his installations and designs are exhibited beautifully on the website, it does take a little while to find them.

Last weekend I was stumbling around the Vic both Friday and Saturday night.. As I was walking around I found the DJ box dowstairs and next to it i found this random off cut of carpet?? the weird thing is that i didn't just find one random off cut on the weekend but 2! 1 peice on friday night and a completely different piece on saturday night! I don't understand?
why are there random peices of carpet floating around at the Vic?

Well i've never seen anything as strange as this fellow... originally called a 'Bogong' moth i think is how u spell it, he has been renamed 'Baz the bogan moth'. It is believed that Baz carries around a packet of winnie reds under his wing and probably comes from my hometown of Forbes... Boganville :)

XML and RSS, what could this mean?

"eXtensible Markup Language", a system of marking up that allows you to create your own language for displaying documents - for instance, an XML document can generate an HTML, PDF, and Word copy of the same file, enabling you to have just one master document to update.... yeah yeah, don't understand it completelt but i'm sure i will hey...
But now to RSS, How does RSS syndication work? Say you publish a new web page about a particular topic. You want others interested in that topic to know about it. By listing the page as an "item" in your RSS file, you can have the page appear in front of those who read information using RSS readers or "news aggregators" RSS also allows people to easily add links to your content within their own web pages. Bloggers are a huge core audience that especially does this... so there we go, i'mm hoping this post helps even me understand half of this stuff, but that is about as much info as i could gather, yeah...

To be qutie honest, coming to university was qutie a shock for me because at the beginning of my course i realised that i had a chosen a degree (photgraphy/mulitimedia) that i knew very little about. I had had experience in Photography but when it came to Multimedia I was doing tasks that I had never before done or even considered doing. So when we were asked to create a GMAIL account and then a Blogger account I thought "huh"? Learning about Blogger and just how useful it would be for this subject surprised me a little, but i found myself learning some great things. For instance with Blogger I learnt how to create links to other sites or blogposts on the internet, creating my own Blog and Blogposts, incorporating my other accounts such as Del.icio.us and Flickr with my Blog and many other interesting things, So when it came down to interestingness i believe that my Blog contains alot of it, well it might contain more of it for me as it revolves around things that interest me. Working through the blogger checklist i found i had completed nearly all of the outcomes:

The most enjoyable part was playing around with the layout and colours of my blog, some things happened by accident but turned out to be just what I wanted, i had a few templates through the whole process but alot were extremely boring :). I found that some of my posts were a bit random but at the same time i loved writing them, here is a link to one of my favourite posts and also another

When it came down to Delicious I found that my newly formes account was Fantastic, I was able to save some of my classmates Flickr and Blogger accounts for the sake of the assessment and also to save some of my favourite sites ultimately allowing easier access to all of the sites. The amount of interestingness that I found on Delicious was outstanding, I loved going through all of my classmates Delicious bookmarks to see what they were all interested in and what they had saved. So here are my completed outcomes for Delicious:

Yay Yay Yay, down to Flickr!!!
Ilove photographs, so to me, nothing was better than uploading them into my own little niche on the internet and being able to post them to my blog or save them to my Delicious account. I have mainly been uploading photos of the great times I have at where I live in Wagga at South Campus because to me it feels like I have never made a better choice to move to Wagga, I love Uni Life. I have Discovered some odd groups such as "Crappy Photos". Flickr would probably have to be the most useful site that i have used so far in mulitimedia.. I find it really convenient being able to access my photos not only for the purpose of viewing them but making them a part of my blog posts as well which in turn gives my blog just a little bit more 'interestingness'.. hmmm.

So the other day when i was hanging about W Block South Campus having a great time with all my friends watching Big Brother, we noticed that one of the guys, Bodie, Had a pair of shoes on that looked like awesome space gumboots or something.. Did they bring back some memories or what!! If you had any kind of decent upbringing you are sure to remember the awesome Reebok Pumps with mad orange basketballs on the tongue of the shoe that you could pump up.. After looking for a pair on ebay we found that these retro shoes are still today worth $200!!! But how much are they worth it hey!! Buy some now at my recommendation!!
